Dual Richmond premiership stars Shai Bolton and Tom Lynch dominated the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award voting for the Round 20 match against Brisbane at the MCG.

The pair received nine votes apiece from respective coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Chris Fagan (Brisbane) following their dominant displays in the Tigers’ thrilling seven-point win.

They both ignited Richmond’s sensational second-half comeback through their brilliant play.

Bolton finished the match with 24 disposals, seven marks, a game-high nine inside-50s, team-high four centre clearances, two goals, game-high 12 score involvements and team-high 711 metres gained.

Lynch, returning from a stint on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, took seven marks, including a game-high five contested marks and team-high four inside 50, kicked four goals (all in the second half) and had seven score involvements.

The other Tiger player to poll votes in the prestigious coaches’ award for the Round 20 clash with the Lions was exciting, young forward Noah Cumberland.

He was given two votes for the significant impact he had on the contest – a game-high five goals from just six kicks overall.
