Richmond trio Shai Bolton, Tom Lynch and Daniel Rioli have been named in the 2022 All Australian squad.

Twenty-five-year-old Rioli has been selected in the squad for the first time after re-inventing himself as a rebounding half-back late last season before flourishing in the role in 2022.

Across his 22 matches this season, the lively Tiger, who recently signed a five-year contract extension, has averaged 20.6 disposals, 83.7 per cent disposal efficiency, 4.9 marks, 1.2 intercept marks, 2.3 tackles and 3.3 rebound 50s.

Key forward Lynch, a 2016 All Australian before he arrived at Tigerland ahead of the 2019 season, was at his damaging best up forward this season.

The 29-year-old booted 60 majors throughout the home and away season, averaging 3.3 goals, 0.7 score assists, 12.3 disposals, 67.4 per cent disposal efficiency, 5.9 marks, 3.2 contested possessions, 1.4 tackles and 2.2 inside 50s per game over his 17 outings. 

Excitement machine Bolton, also a first-time member of the All Australian squad, has been in sizzling form all year.

Also playing 22 games in 2022, the midfielder/forward has averaged 17.9 disposals, 64.1 per cent disposal efficiency, 3.7 clearances, 2.2 tackles, and 1.9 goals and 4.5 inside 50s per game, while kicking 40 goals.

A total of 26 players are looking for their first All-Australian jacket, with the final team of 22 to be announced at the AFL Awards on Wednesday night.

The selection panel is comprised of AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Andrew Dillon, Glen Jakovich, Gerard Healy, Chris Johnson, Cameron Ling, Nick Riewoldt and Brad Scott.
