Jack Riewoldt and Trent Cotchin will enter the 2023 season holding the current-day record for the most games as teammates.

The star veteran Richmond duo have played 274 games together from 2008 to the end of the 2022 season.

Geelong pair Tom Hawkins and Joel Selwood were the previous record-holders among current AFL players with 305 games, but the Cats captain’s retirement, following their Grand Final victory this year, has seen the baton handed to Riewoldt and Cotchin.

The competition’s all-time record for most games as teammates is held by Adelaide’s Andrew McLeod and Tyson Edwards with 307.

Richmond’s record in this regard is 289 games together by Kevin Bartlett and Francis Bourke from 1967-1981.
