Tim Taranto’s remarkable run in the AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player of the Year Award continues, with the star Richmond midfielder now in equal fourth place.

Taranto received nine votes following another excellent performance for the Tigers in their Round 13 victory over Fremantle at Optus Stadium – a game-high 35 disposals, 15 contested possessions, three marks, equal team-high seven clearances, three rebound-50s, two goals, six score involvements, seven tackles and 214 metres gained.

He has polled 36 coaches votes since Round 8 for an overall total of 52 votes.

Richmond excitement machine Shai Bolton also picked up nine votes for his dazzling display against the Dockers – 33 disposals, a team-high 16 contested possessions, three marks, team-high 11 inside-50s, six clearances, equal game-high three centre clearances, one goal, six score involvements, six intercepts, five tackles and a game-high and AFL career-high 925 metres gained.

Top Tiger defender Nick Vlastuin was given five votes after finishing the match with 26 disposals, a game-high 12 marks, equal team-high seven rebound-50s, five score involvements, game-high nine intercepts and 384 metres gained.

Rounding out Richmond’s Round 13 vote-winners in the prestigious coaches’ award is Jayden Short with one vote.
