Two-time premiership Tiger, Kamdyn McIntosh, will lace up his boots for the 200th time in his AFL career when the side runs out on the MCG to face North Melbourne this Sunday.
Originally hailing from Pinjarra, Western Australia, McIntosh was first drafted in 2012 and has since remained at the Richmond Football Club for more than 12 years.
Amongst his teammates and within the four walls of the Club, McIntosh is known to be the ultimate team player and embodies the values of a true Richmond man.
In Thursday's press conference, Yze reflected on McIntosh’s significant milestone and acknowledged the impact he has had on the Club over the years.
“If you ask him, he probably wouldn’t have thought he would get to 100 games, let alone a two-time premiership player and a great Richmond man,” Yze said.
“So, we will celebrate that on Saturday once he gets through training, and it’s something we do really well as a footy club, and that’s to celebrate our people.”
McIntosh is the fourth most experienced player in the current Richmond line-up, hence why the 31-year-old is now seen as someone the younger players in the group can look up to.
“I preach to our players around being a great footballer but also a great teammate, and that’s exactly what he is, and it’s the reason why he has lasted so long,” Yze said.
“He was in here this morning at 6:30am getting his body right, doing some touch with our younger players, and he is a great person to have around the footy club.
“He has been a master in his role. He has played on that wing for 10 odd years and has done it at a high level, and as I said, we will celebrate that this weekend with our Tiger Army.”
Be there, Tiger Army, as McIntosh runs out in the Yellow and Black for the 200th time, this Sunday from 1:10pm. Get Tickets HERE.
