Taj Hotton will make his Richmond VFL debut against Footscray in the Round 13 clash this Sunday.

The 19-year-old will pull on the yellow and black against the Dogs in Sunday's game at Marvel Stadium, after recovering from an ACL injury.

"He is playing half a game for our VFL team this weekend. He will play a half over three quarters," Yze said.

"He is starting to integrate into footy which is exciting. He is a highly talented kid and we can’t wait to see him doing what he does best, and that’s playing."

The classy midfielder/forward has overcome his ACL injury that he sustained last season, throwing himself into every challenge during his short time at Punt Road.

Richmond selected the promising teenager with pick 12 in the 2024 National Draft, with the youngster showing tremendous upside during his rehabilitation.

He travelled with the ACL recovery group to Samoa in the pre-season, taking part in teammate Mykelti Lefau's homecoming.

Hotton has shown his skills for Sandringham Dragons, the AFL National Academy team and Haileybury College.

Taj is the son former Collingwood and Carlton player Trent and brother of Olli who spent time on St Kilda’s list.
