The Tigers have had seven debutants throughout 2025, as the Club’s new journey has gotten off to an exciting start.

Speaking in a mid-season members update video, coach Adem Yze explained how all of the Tiger Cubs have impressed him, while also breaking down the key attributes of Sam Lalor and Luke Trainor, who have been cemented their spots in the senior side.

“They all have (impressed) in their own unique way,” Yze said.

“We have got some big boys, which for key position players it normally does take a little bit longer, but with where our list is at right now, they’ve gotten some opportunity at AFL level. They’ve taken it in their stride.

“Sammy Lalor has come in and looks like he belongs on an AFL field but what’s impressed me is his training standards, his leadership and care for his teammates.

“Lukey Trainor is a ball of energy and has really impressed me with the ability to play, he has played in all three lines, we have moved him forward in a couple of games, he has played wing now, and we know what he can do down back.”

Richmond sits 17th on the ladder heading into Round 15, winning three games from 13 appearances.

Despite the infusion of youth into the list, Yze vows winning and climbing the ladder remains extremely important.

“We are not content with where we sit. We know what the outside noise is and where the predictions were with where we are going to finish, but we are still trying to grow and climb,” he said.

“We are not happy where we are, we are still second last on the ladder. We are trying to fight our way back up the ladder and fast track the development of our younger players.”

The Tigers face the Western Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon at Marvel Stadium.
