Ahead of Richmond’s Round 23 clash with North Melbourne on Sunday, coach Adem Yze is hoping his side can swing the result from last time the two teams met, when the Kangaroos secured a narrow four-point win in May.
“We know they play well at this ground,” Yze said, referring to Tasmania's Ninja Stadium.
"Hopefully, we can redeem ourselves from the last time we played them.
“It was a tough game, and they got the chocolates, so obviously we want to go over and have a good performance.”
A theme from the meeting earlier in the season was Richmond not taking full advantage of its goal scoring opportunities, which also happened in last week's clash with St Kilda.
Yze is aware the Club needs to be more damaging around goals, and is looking forward to the challenge that awaits on Sunday.
“We fought our way back (against North in Round 10), they started well, and then the middle part of the game, we didn’t maximise our opportunities. I think there was a quarter where we had 18 inside 50’s to four,” Yze said.
“From halftime, it was an arm-wrestle, and I think this weekend will be really similar.
“Two teams that haven’t won a lot of games, and they will be itching to obviously taste that success.
“We will be going over there, will worry about our process, and hope that gives us the result we are after.”
With Round 23 marking the second-to-last game of the season, Yze reflected on the growth of his squad.
“We expect growth with all of our boys who haven’t played 100 games up until now,” Yze said.
“We expect development and growth from our leaders, so you are always striving to be better every time you walk in.
“Our first year players, we have been really excited with what they have been bringing, but unfortunately, a few of them are out through injury.
“We still have a fair few young boys in the team, and I just see growth in them every week. Game by game, they are feeling like they belong, and we are just trying to fast-track that.”
