Four Richmond players have been nominated for AFL Players’ Association Awards, across four different categories.
Star Tiger trio Tim Taranto, Nick Vlastuin and Toby Nankervis have all been nominated for the AFL Players’ Most Valuable Player Award.
Vlastuin has also been nominated for the AFL Players’ Most Courageous Player Award, while Nankervis is in the running for the AFL Players’ Best Captain Award.
Rising key forward Jonty Faull is in the mix to win the AFL Players’ Best First Year Player Award.
The winners will be announced at Thursday night’s AFL Awards, with the Leigh Matthews Trophy up for grabs for the MVP winner.
Vlastuin, who played every game bar the Round 24 clash against the Cats, was a prominent and calming leader in defence during the Tigers' 2025 campaign.
Averaging 19.1 disposals and an above average 6.1 marks this season, the veteran provided structure to a mixed backline of experienced and young Tigers.
Nankervis had another outstanding campaign as the Club’s captain, leading Richmond into its exciting new journey with aplomb.
The ruckman played 22 games this season, averaging an above average 15.9 disposals, 33 hit-outs and nine hit-outs to advantage.
Taranto had a brilliant 21 matches, with his elite level performances in the midfield a regular occurrence across the season.
The 27-year-old collected averages of 25.6 disposals, 15.2 handballs, 5.5 clearances and 4.9 tackles this year.
Faull was a part of Richmond’s exciting 2024 draft class and he made his presence felt up forward all season.
The 195cm forward played 16 matches in his debut campaign, kicking nine goals, while showcasing a strong competitive edge and positive signs for his future.
