Lachlan Wilson and Mutaz El Nour have been named joint winners of the Guinane Medal for the VFL Best and Fairest.

For a second consecutive year, Wilson has earned the Club’s VFL Best and Fairest Award after a remarkable season, showcasing his toughness, dedication and elite football skills.

The key midfield/half forward, once again, proved why he is one of the League’s strongest competitors, having played a crucial role as one of Richmond’s inside midfielders, bringing pressure, speed and contested ball work through the centre of the ground.

Wilson had an incredible start to the season, putting on a clinic in the side’s Round 2 after the siren win against Sandringham, picking up 25 disposals, 11 tackles, five clearances and a major.

In just his second year at Tigerland, the 26-year-old has solidified himself as a key contributor and prolific ball-getter, earning a second consecutive Guinane Medal in the process.

El Nour also joined Wilson on stage as a Best and Fairest winner, awarded for his elite 2025 season, where he played a crucial role in driving success for his team.

Leading from the backline, El Nour left his mark by becoming one of the best lockdown and intercept defenders in the League, earning him a spot in the VFL Team of the Year.

El Nour also represented the VFL in the AAMI State Game against SANFL’s West End State Team during the AFL’s Gather Round weekend.

In just his fifth season at VFL level, El Nour vice-captained his side to a wildcard win over GWS, willing his team to an elimination final.

Known for his exceptional ability to read the play and prolific intercept marking prowess, El Nour averaged 17 disposals, three tackles and five marks, firmly establishing himself as a star throughout the season.

In an array of dominant performances, El Nour shone brightly in the Round 14 win against the Northern Bullants, recording 18 disposals, 10 marks, and six tackles.

The pair both accepted the award at Richmond’s Jack Dyer Medal event at Crown on Tuesday night.
