Maurice Rioli's immense speed will be on display at the AFL Grand Final, when he takes part in the traditional Telstra Half-Time Sprint.
Rioli is coming off a strong season with the Tigers, where his relentless forward pressure became a staple in the senior side throughout the second half of the campaign. His trademark chase-down tackles are evidence of his dashing pace, which will be on display on Saturday afternoon.
The iconic 100m dash across the MCG turf will see seven participants from AFL Clubs come up against Olympic medallist and international boxer Harry Garside.
Watching along and firing the starting gun will be athletics superstar Gout Gout, who is fresh off a fourth-place finish in the 200m semifinal at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
Lining up alongside Garside will be Rioli, 2024 Sprint winner Beau McCreery from Collingwood, Nick Blakey from Sydney, Toby Greene from GWS, Jed Walter from Gold Coast, Jack Higgins from St Kilda and Murphy Reid from Fremantle.
Legendary sports broadcaster Bruce McAvaney will commentate the Sprint live on 7 and 7Plus.
