Exciting Richmond draftee, Zane Peucker, has revealed the two players whom he models his game on.
Peucker was selected with pick 31, and the damaging forward half player looks up to a pair of rivals who possess similar skillsets.
“I like watching a lot of (Brisbane’s) Zac Bailey and (Western Bulldogs’) Rhylee West, the way they go about it, and they’re pretty good players. I like to watch them,” Peucker said.
Peucker was a dominant force for the Woodville West-Torrens U/18s this year, averaging 25 disposals, 1.5 goals, and 5.5 score involvements per game.
He was particularly prolific late in the year, with 34 disposals and two goals in a narrow loss to West Adelaide in Round 14, and 31 touches and three majors the following week against Norwood.
Peucker also booted a goal in every game he played for the National Championship-winning South Australia, where he was a teammate of fellow Richmond draftee Sam Cumming.
“It’s definitely something you can’t really speak about. The feeling…I’ve never felt anything like it, it feels amazing,” he said about being drafted.
“It’s always been something I wanted to do, but it’s only really come in the past couple of months when I got invited to the national combine, and now here I am.
“It’s very exciting. To have the opportunity to play at the highest level is something I’m very grateful for.”
Peucker is the third South Australian drafted by the Tigers, alongside Cumming and Noah Roberts-Thomson. That trio joins Sam Grlj as Richmond’s 2025 national draft haul.
