Richmond VFL is delighted to confirm the signing of 19-year-old Aaron Sharkie, who put pen to paper with the program over the summer.

The running defender, who also has experience in the midfield, is known for his elite work rate and endurance, which helps him stand out against opponents.

Endurance is what makes the 184cm defender a worry for opposition, and also allows him to find the ball and rack up possessions across four quarters regularly.

Also known for his transitional play, Sharkie takes off at high speeds, able to carry the ball forward and impact the scoreboard, making him a threat in both attack and defence.

During his 2025 campaign with the Oakleigh Chargers, where he played just nine matches, the 19-year-old was able to collect 11 clearances and lay an impressive 31 tackles, highlighting his ability to be multi-faceted across the ground.

Sharkie declared he is excited to contribute to the growing VFL program this season.

"I'll bring a bit of dash off half back, a bit of run-and-carry and confident ball use," he told Richmond Media.

"I'm loving it. It's good to meet and get to know all the boys. I'm just so excited for the year.

"I want to play as many games as I can and hopefully I can play in a few wins."
