Daniel Lowther

Richmond’s VFL program has added another string to its bow with the inclusion of key forward/ruckman Daniel Lowther.

Standing at 199cm tall, the Geelong Falcons product arrives at the Swinburne Centre boasting an elite marking ability and a proven talent for kicking goals.

After kicking 18 goals in just 13 games last year, Lowther played a key role in helping the Falcons secure the minor premiership. His standout season was further rewarded with an invite to the state draft combine.

Now he hopes to further develop his skill set under the guidance of VFL Coach Jack Madgen.

“I just finished up at the Geelong Falcons down in the Coates Talent League, then I went back as a 19-year-old in 2025, and then Ollie Grant (from Richmond's recruiting team) gave me a call and said they would be keen to get me down,” Lowther told Richmond Media.

“I didn’t really think too much about it. It just felt right coming here, and then I came for a tour, and they just made it so welcoming.

“It was just a no-brainer to choose Richmond as my VFL club.”

Tiger fans can expect to see Lowther’s competitiveness on full display through the 2026 season, along with an array of goals.

“I’m definitely a competitive person and can play in the forward line or in the ruck,” Lowther said.

“I’m just someone who is hungry to get after it in the air or on the ground, and hopefully I can make my teammates better around me as well.”
