Toby Nankervis is poised to become just the seventh player in Richmond’s history to chalk up 100 games as captain.
The inspirational Tiger triple premiership ruckman was this week appointed as the Club’s captain for a fifth consecutive season.
He finished the 2025 season in equal-10th place on the list of most games by a Richmond captain with 81, alongside former champion rover Dale Weightman.
All being well, Nankervis will join Trent Cotchin (188 games), Percy Bentley (168), Jack Dyer (160), Des Rowe (104), Matthew Knights (102) and Alec Edmond (101) as a Tiger centurion captain late in the 2026 season.

Nankervis, 31, was appointed Richmond’s co-captain in 2022, together with Dylan Grimes, when three-time premiership skipper Cotchin stood down from the role.
He has played a total of 167 games with the Tigers after being recruited by the Club in the 2016 AFL trade period from Sydney, where he had a 12-game senior career across three seasons.
Nankervis also is closing in on the most by games as captain by a Richmond player recruited from a rival League club.
Currently, Dan Minogue holds that record with 94 games, after controversially crossing from Collingwood to fierce, neighbouring arch-rival Richmond in 1920 as captain-coach.
Minogue guided the Tigers to back-to-back premierships in his first two seasons at the helm in 1920-21.
