Jack Ross is relishing the extra responsibility within Richmond’s line-up after being elevated to the Club’s playing leadership group this year.
The 25-year-old, who will reach the 100-game milestone with the Tigers in Friday night’s Anzac Day Eve blockbuster against Melbourne at the MCG, has recorded AFL career-high numbers in several key statistical categories a quarter of the way through the 2026 home-and-away season.
He is averaging a career-high 21.7 disposals, career-high 10.7 contested possessions, career-high 4.3 clearances, career-high 3.3 intercepts and career-high 5.7 tackles.
Ross worked tirelessly through the midfield in Richmond’s loss to North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, finishing the match with an equal team-high 26 disposals, a game-high and AFL career-high 18 contested possessions, a game-high eight clearances, with a game-high and AFL career-high five centre clearances, four intercepts, two goals, seven score involvements and 389 metres gained.
It was one of the best performances of Ross' career at the game’s highest level, and it further underlined his importance within a young, inexperienced Tigers team.
