After departing Richmond, Austin joined the Western Bulldogs as National Recruiting Manager, where he led the Club’s recruiting strategy across two drafts before moving to Carlton.

He also previously held roles as an Opposition Analyst at the Bulldogs (2006-2008) and Port Adelaide (2008-2011).

Richmond Executive General Manager, Football Talent Blair Hartley, said the Club was thrilled to welcome Austin back to Punt Road.

“As the game continues to evolve, particularly in the list space and with the addition of a 19th team, having someone of Nick’s credentials and experience will be important for us moving forward.

“He will be a huge asset for our Club, and we are delighted to welcome him and his family back to Richmond.”

Austin will commence with the Club on Wednesday, ahead of the Free Agency Period that commences on October 2 and Trade Period on October 5.
