The superstar midfielder has reached stunning form in 2019, averaging 27.1 disposals, six inside-50s and 4.5 clearances per game.

Grimes and Prestia, who were named this week alongside Martin in the 2019 All Australian squad, have also been recognised by their playing peers for their stellar seasons.

Richmond’s ‘Mr Consistency’, Prestia, has had a major impact in 2019, the midfielder averaging 27.5 disposals, 5.8 clearances and 4.8 inside-50s across 22 games.

Grimes has taken his game to the next level in 2019, stepping up in Alex Rance’s absence. In his 21 games this season, the reliable defender has averaged 6.9 intercept possessions and 6.7 one percenters per game.

In recognition of his courage this year, Grimes has also been selected as the Club’s representative for the Most Courageous award.

Richmond skipper Trent Cotchin will look to hold onto his title as the AFL’s Best Captain after taking home the award last year.

Following a standout debut season in the Yellow and Black, talented teenager Sydney Stack is Richmond’s nominee for the Best First-Year Player.

The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage process. The first involves players nominating three teammates for the award, before three nominees from every club are presented to the wider playing group for a vote to decide the winner. Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.

The winners will be announced at the AFLPA MVP awards on Thursday night.
