Collingwood proved too strong for a developing Richmond, climbing back into Wildcard contention with a 34-point victory at the MCG on Saturday evening.

After finishing the first term level on the scoreboard, the Magpies broke away to secure a 15.16 (106) to 11.6 (72) victory over the Tigers.

Nick Daicos set the tone early with two goals in the first quarter, finishing with 37 disposals and three majors, while Jordan De Goey continued his hot run of form with 27 touches and a goal. Lachie Schultz was also lethal with four goals for the Magpies.

Tim Taranto was immense for Richmond, leading his young side with 26 disposals and four goals, while 18-year-old Sam Cumming continued to build on his promising debut season with a career-high 27 disposals.
