Richmond went to work in the off-season to draft and recruit some of the competition's brightest up-and-coming stars.
No.1 draft pick, Olivia Wolmarans, has led the pack since day one of pre-season, and is already showing her on-field prowess in match simulation.
The key forward has built strength and football knowledge since being drafted and has put her body on the line in multiple contests already. It's hard not to be excited about what she will bring for the Tigers’ long-term success.
Alongside her, the Tigers drafted Baia Pugh and Fina Dethlefsen. Pugh, better known as 'Buzz', has truly got an unbeatable aura about her, and speed to match.
Her run and carry, and ball hunting skills, have already impressed coaches and teammates, and she's sure to stand tall in 2026.
Dethlefsen is a unique draftee, and has the strength that shows maturity beyond her years. A solid ball reader and confident in the air, Dethlefsen will bring life and energy this season.
Additionally, the arrivals of former Docker Dana East, who has nearly 50 games of AFLW experience under her belt, ex-Roo Georgia Stubs, and Irish recruit Ana Mulholland, adds to the excitement about this fresh crop of Tigers.
Experience the new era of leadership
For the first time since Richmond's AFLW inception, the Club will be led by new captains, after Tigers champion Katie Brennan stepped down from her roll after a stellar seven seasons at the helm.
It has made way for the Club to name co-captains in Ellie McKenzie and Gabby Seymour, who bring a fresh view on the direction of the team and broader Club.
McKenzie's killer instincts on-field have already been on display, lifting the side to new heights over the pre-season. Add to that the positive energy from Seymour, who effortlessly lifts up every single teammate, and it's a duo that is hard to surpass.
The elevation of Mon Conti into the vice-captain position also shows the Club's commitment to recognising her growth and success away from her individual accolades.
Alongside those three, trusted defenders Bec Miller and Beth Lynch, as well as the ever-energetic Sarah Hosking, make up the extended leadership group.
Each player brings their own knowledge, care and genuine understanding of how to get the best out of their peers, and it's hard to ignore how exciting that will be to see come alive.

It's hard to go past one of the greatest to ever grace the AFLW stage. Conti has stood tall since the very beginning, and continues to show that even she can get better every week.
Since retiring from basketball at the end of 2025, Conti has put in a body of work, and undertaken her first ever full football pre-season. And it's already showing in her agility in just two match simulations.
Conti has won seven Richmond Best and Fairests, and draws you into not just Richmond, but the game of AFLW as a whole every time she touches the ball.

New coaches re-ignite the passion
Senior coach Jarrad Donders, alongside Executive General Manager of Women's Football Jane Woodlands-Thompson, have assembled their A-Team for the 2026 campaign.
Their game plans and leaderships have already shone brightly during the pre-season, with a renewed hunger to impress, and pressure already mounting regarding selection come Round 1.
It's a positive place for the leaders of the Club to be in, with a strong connection, care and an energy throughout the group.
Add to that the addition of elite AFLW coaching talent, including assistant coach Brett Gourley - who led North Melbourne's VFLW program to consecutive VFLW flags - Richmond is raring to go come the season opener against Collingwood.
