Richmond's final VFL team for the 2026 season has landed, with the Tigers set to take on St Kilda 

Excitingly, AFL trio Samson Ryan, Kane McAuliffe and Tyler Sonsie return to the side, alongside Richmond Next Generation Academy product Tanner Armstrong.

Armstrong has been a member of Richmond’s NGA for five years, developing his game under the tutelage of the Tigers program. 

A 177cm tough, hard-bodied midfielder, Armstrong is set to provide grunt, intensity and ball-winning ability to Jack Madgen’s VFL side on Saturday. He has trained with Richmond’s AFL and VFL programs over the past few seasons, and having trained under Madgen throughout the season, Armstrong is set to fit in seamlessly.

The quartet replace Harry Armstrong (AFL), Aaron Sharkie (omitted), Sam Phillips (omitted) and JayDe Varlet (omitted).

The backline is made up of Mutaz El Nour, captain Lachlan Street, Campbell Gray, Nick Collier, Harry Scott and James Trezise.

Sam Toner makes up the centreline, alongside Sonsie and Zach O'Keefe. Oliver Hayes-Brown takes his spot in the ruck, with Maurice Rioli and McAuliffe named as his followers.

Zane Peucker, Tom Burton, Noah Roberts-Thomson, Liam Fawcett, Jasper Alger and Ryan make up the forward line.

Sam Philp, Liam George, Joel Garner, Armstrong and Olli Hotton make up the interchange.

The emergencies are Aaron Sharkie, Sam Phillips and JayDe Varlet.

The Round 21 clash is set for 2.05pm (AEST) this Saturday 8 August, with the game to be live-streamed on the AFL website.
