Richmond co-captain Gabby Seymour will play her 75th AFLW game in Friday night's clash with Melbourne, providing a chance to celebrate one of the most committed members of the Club's women's program.
Seymour has been a core member of the Tigers' AFLW side since its beginning, initially being added to the list as a cross-code rookie from volleyball via the VFLW program.Â
Seymour wasted no time making an impact on the footy field, with two best-on-ground performances and two other appearances among the best players in her first five VFLW matches in 2019.Â
Since then, the 29-year-old has been a wonderfully consistent player for the Tigers.
Always willing to do whatever the team needs, Seymour has thrived in a new role as a key forward this season, booting six goals, including three in the Round 6 win over GWS, and providing valuable support to Olivia Wolmarans and Caitlin Greiser.Â
In 2024 and 2025, Seymour was a rock in defence as a key post in the backline, while also contributing as an undersized ruck when needed.Â
Known for her elite behaviours and fierce mindset within the Club, Seymour has finished in the top three in the Club's AFLW Best and Fairest on three occasions.
One of the biggest impacts Seymour has made on the AFLW program has been through her leadership, mentorship and guidance, becoming an invaluable member inside the four walls of the Club.
Before being elevated to the co-captaincy role this year, one in which she has thrived alongside Ellie McKenzie, Seymour had been vice-captain for the past three seasons, showcasing tremendous leadership and being one of the most admired players in the program. She has been a member of the leadership group since Season 7 (2022).
Off the field, she has gained widespread recognition across the industry for her advocacy work and leadership pushing for women in sport.
The Tigers will celebrate Seymour's 75th match against the Demons at IKON Park on Friday night at 7.15pm. Click here to buy tickets.
