Kieren Briggs

Richmond’s new ruckman Kieren Briggs is looking to make an immediate impact at the Swinburne Centre, joining SEN this week to outline how he plans to lead the next wave of Tigers to success.

“It will be good to come in and hopefully help those young guys develop and offer up some leadership and development for those guys as well, to see if they can get the most out of themselves,” Briggs explained.

“I think the list at the moment is in a really good spot. You see how much talent there is on the field.

“With the new high-performance manager, Selwyn Griffith, he has done a mountain of work already. He seems to be really driven and looking forward to getting these guys on the pitch.”

Briggs said he is excited to make the move from Sydney to Melbourne and join a Club with rich football history.

“I grew up in Sydney, so I haven’t quite had the experience of AFL in Melbourne, and that was a lot of the draw in saying yes,” Briggs said.

“Obviously the Club has been established for a long time, so that was a real pull as well.”
