Richmond duo Hugo Ralphsmith and Maurice Rioli Jnr have signed on for their eighth and seventh respective seasons at the Club.
Ralphsmith, 24, has played 75 AFL games across his time at the Swinburne Centre, including 13 matches this year.
The 24-year-old missed a block of football in the middle of the year due to a knee injury and through suspension but returned to play eight straight games to end the season.
Ralphsmith was moved from the wing to a role across half forward to great effect in the Round 21 win against West Coast where he racked up 18 disposals, took eight marks and booted two goals.
The 188cm hard runner continued in the role to finish the season and hit the scoreboard again twice in the last three matches. He averaged 14.6 disposals, three marks and three inside 50s per match across the 2026 season.
Rioli Jnr, also 24, played 10 AFL games in 2026, taking his career tally to 59.
The small forward featured in each of the opening six AFL matches before a hamstring injury ruled him out until the second half of the year.
He had a career-high eight tackles in his return AFL match against Brisbane in Hobart, displaying his trademark pressure and defensive intent as the team took it up to the eventual premiers.
Rioli Jnr had a spell in the VFL late in the year but was able to break his way back into the team for the last round against Geelong.
Richmond Executive General Manager, Football Talent, Blair Hartley, said the Club was pleased to have the pair locked in for 2027.
“Hugo found some form at AFL level towards the end of the year, playing more as a forward," Hartley said.
“He has shown across his 75 AFL games that he has some real weapons with his endurance running and ability to impact all around the ground.
“Likewise, we know what Maurice brings to our team. He is a team lifting player with his speed and defensive intent.
“Maurice still has plenty more upside which is exciting for us, and we are looking forward to seeing him continue to expand his game in 2027.
“Both are already working hard with their off-season programs, and we are looking forward to seeing what they can achieve next year.”
