Richmond superstar Dustin Martin polled the most votes in the Tigers v Melbourne Round 20 voting for the 2019 AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award.

Martin received nine votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Simon Goodwin (Melbourne) for his dynamic display through the midfield in last Saturday night’s clash at the MCG – a game-high 34 disposals, game-high 17 contested possessions, game-high 11 inside-50s, five clearances, one goal, 10 score involvements, six marks and 418 metres gained.

Key Tiger playmaker Shane Edwards and gun midfielder Dion Prestia collected seven votes apiece for their top-notch performances on the night.

Edwards had 31 disposals, 11 contested possessions, a game-high eight clearances, five rebound-50s, four inside-50s, nine score involvements and 433 metres gained.

Prestia finished the match with 31 disposals, 11 contested possessions, seven inside-50s, four clearances, six marks, eight score involvements and 386 metres gained.

Rounding out Richmond’s Round 20 vote-getters in the prestigious coaches’ award was dashing defender Bachar Houli, who polled four votes following his impressive showing – 32 disposals, five rebound-50s, three inside-50s, seven marks, four tackles and 523 metres gained.
