Richmond had no answer to a dominant Jeremy Cameron, who kicked seven goals as the Tigers fell to GWS by 49 points at Giants Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Tigers led after the first quarter, but the Giants kicked six goals in a dominant second quarter before eventually prevailing 19.11 (125) to 10.16 (76).

Richmond had a number of concerns to come from the game, Jayden Short dislocated his elbow in the first quarter, Daniel Rioli appeared injured in a collision, but managed to play out the game, and Dustin Martin could be looked at by the Match Review Officer after an off-the-ball clash with a Giant player in the second quarter.

Big forward Tom Lynch booted four goals in an encouraging performance, his best haul since moving to the Tigers, while Daniel Rioli (three), Kane Lambert (34 possessions) and Dion Prestia (33) were other Tigers to stand up.

Sydney Stack was also impressive on debut, finishing with 17 disposals and eight marks.

Lachie Whitfield starred for GWS with 41 disposals, 12 marks and eight inside 50s playing all over the ground, while Jeremy Finlayson kicked four goals in their victory.

Cameron kicked the opening goal of the match and had two in the opening term, but a pair of majors from Rioli and one for debutant Stack, who looked composed playing in defence, gave the visitors a nine-point advantage at quarter-time.

The Tigers held their slight lead until Brent Daniels was awarded a free kick directly in front of goal, after Martin made contact with a GWS player off the ball.

Sydney’s first goal stacks up

With Richmond ahead by seven points, Daniels kicked the goal, and it was the first of four in a row to the Giants, as they eventually went to half-time with a 15-point buffer, when Finlayson banged one home after the siren.

The third term was a high-scoring affair with nine goals kicked, but while the Tigers booted two of the first three, they couldn't close the gap and trailed by 21 points at the last change.

Cameron (three goals) and Finlayson (two) then took full advantage of a dominant final term as the hard-running Giants proved too hard and too skilful for the visitors.
