Richmond superstar Dustin Martin is set to reach his AFL 200-game milestone quicker than any other player in the Club’s history.

Martin will line up for game No. 200 in Thursday night’s big qualifying final against Hawthorn at the MCG after eight years and five months of superb service with the Tigers.

Former Richmond vice-captain and now Greater Western Sydney player, Brett Deledio, was the previous quickest Tiger to 200 games at nine years, two months.

Deledio remains the youngest Richmond player to achieve the 200-game milestone at 27 years, 37 days of age, which is just ahead of Martin, who will be 27 years and 72 days old.

Martin becomes the 29th double centurion in Richmond’s history and the fourth current-day Tiger, joining Trent Cotchin (218), Shane Edwards (229) and Jack Riewoldt (247).

The reigning Brownlow Medallist has missed only five games since debuting for Richmond in the opening round of the 2010 season, and is averaging a highly-impressive 25.3 disposals and 1.09 goals per game throughout his AFL career.
