Richmond has named two possible debutants in its squad for Sunday’s clash with Collingwood at the MCG.

Talented tall forward Liam McBean, and first-year speedster Connor Menadue, were named among a total of seven inclusions in the squad.

McBean, who was the Tigers’ third pick (No. 33 overall) in the 2012 National Draft, has strongly pressed his claims for senior selection with some further impressive performances at VFL level this season.

The 202cm, 94kg, 20-year-old is the leading goalkicker in the VFL competition, with 12 goals after four rounds.  He kicked 37 goals for Richmond’s VFL team in season 2014.

Menadue has been a shining light in the VFL in his first season as a Richmond player, particularly in his last two appearances.

He collected 24 disposals and kicked a goal against Geelong in Round 3, and backed it up with 16 touches and two goals last weekend against North Ballarat.

The Tigers also have included strongly-built, key defender Todd Elton in their 25-player squad.

Elton, who was Richmond’s second pick (No. 26 overall) in the 2011 National Draft, has played just the one senior game for the Tigers – nearly three years ago.

He made his league debut in Round 14, 2012 against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.

The 197cm, 100kg, 22-year-old has earned his call-up following a string of strong performances in a key defensive role with Richmond’s VFL side this season.

Defender Matt Dea has also been named after dominant form at VFL level, after he endured an injury-interrupted pre-season.

And young midfielder Corey Ellis, who made a promising debut against Geelong a fortnight ago, has overcome a minor leg injury.

The team will be finalised tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.
