Richmond is convinced it has the depth of young playing talent to take another key step forward in the AFL competition this year, as well as make important progress for the seasons ahead.

“A lot of people forget, if you go through and analyse our list, particularly our key players, it’s still quite young and it’s still developing,” Richmond’s General Manager of Football Dan Richardson said on this week’s edition of the Club’s official podcast ‘Talking Tigers’.

“Even if you project forward to 2017 and beyond, particularly two or three years away, there are not too many players that you would say won’t be around due to age.

“So our list is young, and we still think there’s scope for improvement.

“We’ve got to keep improving, we know that.  We think improvement can come from within . . .

“We’re confident that what we’ve seen over the summer will highlight that this year.”

Richmond currently has 31 of the 45 players on its list (including rookies), who are 25 years of age or under.  Among them are captain Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin, Brandon Ellis, Alex Rance, David Astbury, Ben Griffiths, Ty Vickery, Dylan Grimes, Reece Conca, Nick Vlastuin, Ben Lennon and Anthony Miles.
