Talented tall forward Ty Vickery’s value to the Tigers’ team was again highlighted in the decisive win against ladder leader Fremantle at Domain Stadium last Friday night.

Vickery, who returned to the line-up after sustaining minor knee damage early in the Round 8 victory over Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, took six marks (a game-high three of them inside 50) and kicked a team-high/equal game-high three goals, including the match-sealer from a set shot, in an impressive, influential display.

Interestingly, Vickery has now kicked 41 goals in his past 20 games, which is a healthy average of just over two per match.

Star Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt has scored 51 goals from his past 20 appearances, so Vickery’s goalkicking strike-rate stacks up more than adequately in comparison.

The 200cm, 25-year-old has played 91 senior league games all-up for a return of 108 goals.

His best goal tally in a season is 36 in 2011.

He kicked 27 in 2013, steered through 23 in 2014, and has seven from four games so far this season.
