Round 7, fourth quarter v Sydney at the MCG
Richmond’s win against Sydney at the MCG in Round 7 was one of its best of the season, and Shaun Grigg was in the thick of the action all day.
Of his three majors during the afternoon, his final goal, deep into the final quarter, was the most emphatic, as it sealed the game for the Tigers.
In a sweeping counter-attack from defence, Alex Rance intercepted a Swans forward entry and picked off teammate Shane Edwards with a pinpoint pass in the middle of the ground.
With time and space, Edwards delivered a no-look handball to the hard-running Grigg, who ran just inside the 50-metre arc and coolly slotted the goal, to put the result beyond doubt.
