Richmond recorded its biggest win and highest score, under Damien Hardwick’s coaching guidance, in yesterday’s Round 20 match against the Western Bulldogs at the MCG.

The 70-point victory eclipsed the previous best winning margin of 62 points, which was set in Round 9 this year against Hawthorn at the MCG.

The Tigers’ final score of 22.18 (150) just shaded the 23.10 (148) registered against Fremantle at the MCG in Round 7, 2011.

It was, in fact, Richmond’s biggest win and highest score anywhere since Round 15, 2008 against West Coast at Patersons Stadium, when the team compiled 24.8 (152) to record a 77-point victory.

Here are some other interesting facts from a dominant Yellow and Black day.  It was . . .

•    The first time Richmond had beaten the Western Bulldogs since Round 3, 2005.
•    The Tigers’ greatest winning margin v the Bulldogs since Round 18, 1980, when they triumphed by a whopping 115 points - 23.18 (156) to 6.5 (41).
•    Their biggest score against the Dogs since Round 17, 2003 at Etihad Stadium, when they kicked 24.11 (155) to 14.11 (95).
•    The Bulldogs’ lowest score against Richmond since Round 14, 2000 at the MCG, when they could manage only 7.10 (52) to the home side’s 12.15 (87).
•    The third time this season - and the second successive week - that the Tigers had won all four quarters in a match (Hawthorn in Round 9, Brisbane in Round 19, and Western Bulldogs in Round 20).
