Mabior Chol was a major weapon up forward for Richmond in last night’s match against Brisbane at Metricon Stadium.

The athletic, talented, tall Tiger kicked an AFL career-high four goals in the team’s 20-point win that snapped a four-game losing streak.

He also provided Richmond’s returning No. 1 ruckman Toby Nankervis with a decent chop-out, winning 12 hit-outs and four clearances.

Tigers coach Damien Hardwick commended Chol’s performance against the Lions.

“He’s a beautiful kick for goal, one of our better kicks,” Hardwick said.

“His consistency level is getting better.

“He’s one of those players “Marbs” . . . excites our club the way he goes about it, what he brings to the game.

“Last week, he went up against one of the best rucks in the competition in (Collingwood’s) Brodie Grundy. He was a little bit injured.

“For him to bounce back, it was important for his confidence, more importantly our confidence as a club.

“He can certainly play the game.

“The thing I love about Marbs, he’s been with us for seven years and he’s improved every year he has been here.

“This is probably his most consistent year.

“Proud of the player he’s become and the person he is.”
