Jayden Short joined a select group of players in Tigerland’s history last Friday night...

When the 20-year-old debutant held his ground to take a courageous mark inside Richmond’s forward-50 area, and subsequently kicked truly during the first quarter of the Round 2 blockbuster clash with Collingwood at the MCG, he became just the 14th Tiger in more than a century to score a goal with his first kick in senior league football.

Interestingly, four of those on the list are current-day Tigers – Short, captain Trent Cotchin, Sam Lloyd and Ben Lennon.  

And, the last 10 times this goalkicking feat has been achieved by Richmond players, it’s happened at the MCG.
