Tim Taranto took the strong start to his debut season at Richmond to an even higher level in the Anzac Day Eve clash with Melbourne at the MCG, producing a top-notch performance.

The star midfielder worked tirelessly over the course of the four quarters and finished the match with a game-high 33 disposals, a game-high 16 contested possessions, six marks, six inside-50s, an equal game-high six clearances, five intercepts, a game-high 10 score involvements, a game-high 10 tackles and 407 metres gained.

Taranto also polled the most votes in the 2023 AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award voting for the Round 6 match against Melbourne, with nine votes.

After six rounds of the 2023 season, Taranto is ranked third in the competition for tackles, sixth for disposals and sixth for uncontested possessions.

He is averaging 30.5 disposals, 12.5 contested possessions, 18.0 uncontested possessions, 4.0 marks, 5.8 clearances, 3.0 centre clearances, 4.5 inside-50s, 6.5 score involvements, 7.7 tackles and 401.8 metres gained per match.
