Richmond key forward Tom Sims is set to make his AFL debut in Round 9 on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.

The 18-year-old will take to the MCG for the clash against West Coast, at 1.10pm on Sunday.

The talented goalkicker was selected by Richmond with pick 28 in the 2024 National Draft and has made an instant impact at Punt Road since his arrival.

Sims can operate as a tall forward who is dangerous inside 50, but also prides himself on being a physical ruckman when required.

On Club debut in the VFL's Round 1 win over Coburg, Sims was dominant with two majors and five marks. He kicked a goal in each of the next three matches against Sandringham, Brisbane and Frankston.

The Montmorency product impressed for both the Northern Knights and Vic Metro in 2024, kicking various bags of goals, including a haul of seven in the Coates Talent League.

The key forward becomes the Club's seventh debutant in 2025, following in the footsteps of Sam Lalor, Luke Trainor, Harry Armstrong, and Jonty Faull, all from Sims' Draft class, as well as Liam Fawcett and Campbell Gray.

Standing tall at 199cm, Sims has been praised for his athleticism and agility when the ball is in the air.

An intimidating physical presence, the teenager is also able to cover the ground exceptionally well.

He will debut in Richmond's Sunday clash against the Eagles at 1.10pm at the MCG.
