Richmond is pleased to have secured the signature of talented defender Tom Brown until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Brown, 21, had a breakout year in 2024 and has continued his strong form into this season, averaging 14 disposals and four rebounds per game.

The defender ranks #4 at Richmond for intercepts and is renowned for his excellent distribution on both sides of the body when propelling an attack.

Brown has an impressive kicking efficiency of 78%, while often taking on daring options to open the ground for his team.

The former first-round draft pick (No. 17 overall at the 2021 AFL Draft) had an interrupted first season at the Club before earning his debut in the final round of his second season in 2023.

Brown played 18 games last year and has 27 matches for his career after featuring in all eight AFL games to start the 2025 campaign.

The impressive youngster had a career-high 24 touches in the Gather Round clash against Fremantle in Barossa.

He also showed his capability as a forward late last season with three goals against Collingwood in Round 21 and has hit the scoreboard in three games this season.

Richmond General Manager - Football Talent, Blair Hartley, said Brown was important to the Tigers’ future.

“Tom has put together some consistent AFL football across the past two seasons and is showing that he belongs on an AFL field,” he said.

“His exciting traits are evident for all to see, and we are pleased that he will continue to grow his game along with our team across the coming years.

“Tom has put in a lot of work behind the scenes to establish himself at AFL level, and this contract is a reward for his efforts.”
