Every footy player’s most prized possession is their boots.

Therefore, that gives Ilmar Tiltins, or 'Drac' as he is known, one of the most important roles at the Club.

Over the last 46 years, Drac has made a monumental contribution to Richmond by ensuring each player has clean boots ready to wear on game day and at training.

Drac is in charge of collecting, cleaning and packing away the players' footy boots each week so they can perform to the best of their ability on the field.

“I arrive at Punt Road probably four and a half hours before the game,” Drac said.

“I pack the boots in the boxes, then they are loaded up into the property van and then lay them all out ready for the players.”

Drac has been at Tigerland since the early 70s, where he was a part of Richmond’s cheer squad before becoming the Club's primary Boot Studder.

“I met my wife Margot in the cheer squad back in 1972, and we have been married for 43 years,” Drac said.

“She has stuck by me through thick and thin.”

The superstar Boot Studder doesn’t do it for the praise or the recognition, but he does it out of his pure love and passion for Richmond.

“We are all in it together, win or lose,” Drac said.

“There is always next week, and that’s the good thing about this group. They are a good bunch of guys.

“For the amount of years I have been here, every player that has played for the Club has been really good and has been my favourite because they are a Richmond player.”
