Richmond has selected its final team for the 2025 season, as two big inclusions headline the changes for Saturday's clash with Geelong.

Excitingly, it will see the return of key defender Josh Gibcus, who will play his first AFL game in 527 days due to a horror run of injuries.

Gibcus has steadily been building through the VFL, earning the call up for the final round of the home-and-away season.

The 2021 No.9 draft pick collected 11 disposals and took four marks in last week's VFL game, before that having 12 touches in a win over Sandringham. He has also been a pillar in defence for Jake Batchelor's side across his six VFL games this season.

The 22-year-old has endured a nightmare run since producing a brilliant debut season in 2022, managing only two senior appearances since then due to long-term injuries.

Gibcus hasn't played in the AFL since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in round one last year in just his second game after missing all of 2023 due to a complex hamstring injury.

The youngster required secondary knee surgery last year and didn't run at all for nine months until January this year.

He has visited renowned sports medicine practice Aspetar in each of the past two off-seasons, working with Irish performance rehab specialist Enda King in Doha to help his recovery.

His addition is followed by Luke Trainor, who was a late out last week due to hamstring tightness.

The pair replace Nick Vlastuin (injured) and Steely Green (omitted).

The backline will be made up of Nathan Broad, Ben Miller, Tylar Young, Tom Brown, Sam Banks and Jayden Short.

James Trezise, Dion Prestia and Kamdyn McIntosh make up the centreline, for McIntosh's final game in the yellow and black. He closes out a decorated Richmond career of more than 200 games, headlined by two premierships in 2017 and 2020.

Skipper Toby Nankervis takes his spot in the ruck, alongside followers Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper.

Seth Campbell, Jack Ross, Maurice Rioli, Rhyan Mansell, Tom Lynch and Noah Balta complete the forward line.

Harry Armstrong, Taj Hotton, Gibcus, Tyler Sonsie and Trainor make up the interchange, with the substitute to be named an hour before Saturday's first bounce.

Jacob Koschitzke, Kaleb Smith and Green make up the extended squad as emergencies.

Richmond host the Cats at the MCG this Saturday from 4.15pm (AEST). Purchase your tickets here.
