Richmond VFL star Harry Scott says the Tigers will be looking to bring their “strengths” to Saturday’s Wildcard Final against GWS.

Jake Batchelor’s side has had success against the Giants already this season, defeating them by 12-points in late May.

Scott, who has enjoyed a breakout season, says the club knows what GWS brings to the table and believes Richmond has the tools to combat it.

“We've played the Giants once this year in Sydney and we matched up against them pretty well,” Scott said.

“They've got a real surge mentality, like their tsunami, so hopefully we can stop that and bring our strengths.”

Saturday’s game will mark the third straight Wildcard appearance for the Tigers, who previously stumbled at the hurdle in 2023 and 2024.

Scott says the group, which has been made up by mainly VFL-listed players in the second half of the year due to a growing AFL injury list, is looking forward to the chance of finally breaking the Wildcard hoodoo.

“Super excited this week. It's a great opportunity, especially with so many VFL boys getting to put on the jumper,” he said.

“There's just been a huge responsibility on us this year to show up and get the job done. There's no excuses.”

The Tigers and Giants clash on Saturday at 12:10pm at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne. The game will be broadcast on 7mate and 7plus.
