Loved Tiger Sarah Hosking will celebrate her 75th AFLW game on Sunday, when Richmond faces the Brisbane Lions at Brighton Homes Arena.

Hosking is an experienced campaigner known for her contested ability, pressure, and willingness to put her head over the ball.

The 29-year-old has become a staple of the culture at the Swinburne Centre thanks to her caring and fun-loving nature. She had been in Richmond’s leadership group for the past five seasons and continues to hold a strong leadership presence at the Club, despite not being in the group.

Hosking has played 44 of her 74 AFLW matches for the Tigers, having previously been at Carlton. She represented the Blues from 2017-2020, before making the switch to the yellow and black in 2021.

The respected Tiger successfully made the move into the forward line last year from the midfield, before a hamstring injury suffered in the Dreamtime in Darwin match ended her season prematurely.

Speaking on the Moments That Make Us podcast earlier this year, Hosking gave an insight into her return from her hamstring ailments.

"Spending a lot of time away from the football field, away from training with your teammates, that mentality of playing with freedom, or enjoying being out there (is what I have now)," Hosking said.

"It's the second time I've done my hamstring tendon, tore it from the bone. It's been a wild journey getting back, I'm just excited to be back playing.

"I had some moments where I really struggled the last couple of years because essentially I'm out (injured).

"I'm now just excited that I get to get out there and play with my teammates and the energy I can bring. I know that's contagious.

"My mindset coming into each game now, I don't take it for granted."

Hosking has played three games this season, with her pressure on display in last week’s match against St Kilda, where she applied five tackles.

Hosking becomes the second Tiger to reach the 75-game mark this season, after Monique Conti did so in Round 2.
