Richmond defender Libby Graham will celebrate a significant milestone this Sunday at Victoria Park, marking her 50th AFLW game when the Tigers face Collingwood.
“It means a lot,” Graham said on the Moments That Make Us podcast.
“I don't think people realise how big of a deal it is. It's amazing and I’m really proud of it. In those early seasons, we only had six, seven, or eight games a year.
“So, at this stage of the competition in its infancy, these milestones are really important.”
Originally recruited by GWS ahead of the 2020 season, Graham spent two seasons on the senior list with the Giants. She played six games across the 2021 and 2022 seasons before being traded to Richmond ahead of Season 7 (2022).
Since joining the Tigers, Graham has become a leader in the backline, showcasing her consistency, reliability, and professionalism.
“I am the only player outside of Mon Conti who's played every game the last four seasons,” Graham said.
“That consistency is really important to me. I've made sure my whole career, I've been available for selection. I do everything I can to keep my body in a good place. I take a lot of pride in that.
"I feel very proud of what I've done the last four seasons at Richmond. I'm so proud of this team and this club, and am so grateful to be given this opportunity.”
Graham has grown tremendously throughout her career, and believes clear decision-making is the biggest progression in the maturity of her game.
“That’s what you want from your older players, to keep building and making those smart decisions. Coming up to my 50th game, I’ve had more experience and I feel very proud of that,” Graham said.
The Tigers and Magpies meet at 3:05pm on Sunday at Victoria Park.
