Zaydyn Lockwood

Richmond’s VFL side has gone from strength to strength with the signing of key defender/ruckman Zaydyn Lockwood.

Standing at 198cm tall, Lockwood offers versatility, using his elite overhead marking and leaping ability to play across multiple positions.

Having represented the Bendigo Pioneers in the Coates Talent League for the past two seasons, the 20-year-old looks forward to taking the next step and competing at the VFL level.

“I just started by playing Pioneers all through the past two years, and then I had contact with Alex Davey (VFL Operations Manager), where we spoke about having a look at the pre-season of Richmond’s VFL,” Lockwood told Richmond Media.

“It has just been a program that I’ve loved, so, yeah, it’s been good.”

“Hopefully I can bring a lot of excitement, endurance and a lot of different attributes,” Lockwood said.

“I’m looking forward to really getting in and having a crack.”
