After his elevation to vice-captain this pre-season, Richmond star Tim Taranto will step into the role of captain while Toby Nankervis is out injured.
Taranto will lead the Tigers out as skipper this Saturday at Optus Stadium, and will continue to do so while Nankervis recovers from his hamstring injury. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.
After a career-best 2025, Taranto's hot form has continued to start this season, averaging 27.5 disposals across the opening two matches.
The 28-year-old has won two of the past three Jack Dyer Medals, including last year, and has grown significantly in his role as a mentor around the Club.
Taranto was formally included in Richmond’s leadership group for the first time last year and has continually enhanced his all-round leadership credentials throughout his time at the Club.
The Tigers and Dockers meet on Saturday at 4:15pm (AEDT).
