Seth Campbell

Richmond youngster Seth Campbell declares he has “loved” his extended midfield time this season, as the 21-year-old continues to grow as a key piece of the Club’s future.

Coach Adem Yze has mentioned how important it is for Richmond’s youth to gain midfield exposure, to help fast-track their development and understand the demands required to play in the middle.

Campbell’s centre bounce attendances and midfield minutes have increased throughout the campaign, which has helped him record 22 disposals – a career-high – in two of the past four games.

He recorded a career-high five clearances in the Dreamtime at the ‘G win over Essendon, alongside nine contested possessions, with the Tasmanian product showcasing how impactful he can be at the coalface.

Campbell has enjoyed his new role and is looking forward to mastering the art of providing maximum damage as a midfielder/forward in the future.

“There’s a lot of positives in this year, for sure. Personally, I’m getting a crack in the middle, playing majority in the middle, then swinging forward for a bit,” Campbell said on the recent episode of GWM Driven by Match Day.

“I’ve loved the experience in there…adding another string to my bow.”
