Rhyan Mansell was an extremely welcome addition to the Richmond side for the Round 16 clash with Collingwood at the MCG.
The spirited small forward, who was playing his first senior game since Round 1 after recovering from a fractured wrist and foot stress fracture, produced a striking performance that highlighted his importance within the line-up.
He had 12 disposals, took five marks, applied four tackles and booted three goals, including a spectacular one from the boundary line at the Ponsford Stand end of the ground.
Talented young Richmond running machine Patrick Retschko grew up following the Tigers and admired the way Mansell went about his football.
He enjoyed playing alongside him for the first time on Saturday.
“I watched him as a kid and his 'wheels' on the ground are even quicker than what they are on the TV. He is so quick,” Retschko told Richmond Media during a post-match interview.
“But we value him for his pressure, and that part of his game was really strong.
“Obviously, goals are the cherry on top.
“He’s got a lot of talent in that area as well, but I love his pressure as well.”
