Richmond key forward Tom Sims will make his highly anticipated return from his MCL setback, taking to the field against Geelong in Round 16 of the VFL season.

After suffering an MCL injury upon returning for his first game of the 2026 season against Essendon in Richmond's Round 9 VFL clash, Sims will take to the field again against the Cats this Saturday at GMHBA Stadium.

Excitingly, Sims is joined by Zach O'Keefe, who is making his Richmond VFL debut.

O’Keefe is a crafty midfielder who had a strong 2025 campaign, where he took home the Weblease Coaches Awards for his efforts with the Gippsland Power.

Sam Toner, Tom McKenzie and Mohammed Yassine also re-join the side for the Round 16 clash.

The five ins replace Zane Peucker (AFL), Kaleb Smith (concussion), Noah Roberts-Thomson (managed), Zaydyn Lockwood (omitted) and Aaron Sharkie (omitted).

The backline is made up of Mutaz El Nour, captain Lachlan Street, Josh Pollocks, Harry Scott, Leo Connolly and Nick Collier.

Judson Clarke makes up the centreline, alongside Sam Philp and Liam George in his 50th game. Samson Ryan takes his spot in the ruck, with Tyler Sonsie and Olli Hotton as his followers.

O'Keefe, Tom Burton, McKenzie, Liam Fawcett, Harry Armstrong and Toner make up the forward line.

On the interchange is James Milner, Sam Phillips, Kane Loftus, Yassine and Sims.

The emergencies are Tom Ferguson, Lockwood, Sharkie and Ned Renfree.

The Round 16 clash is set for 12:05pm (AEST) this Saturday, with the game to be shown live on the ABC, and live-streamed on the AFL website.
