Following consultation with the Club’s medical staff. Richmond can provide the below injury update for Round 19.
This Injury Report is brought to you by nib. With nib, life could be potentially amazing.
Ben Miller: Heel, TBC
Ben Miller presented to our medical clinic yesterday, following Sunday’s game, with worsening symptoms related to his existing plantar heel pain injury.
We will have to wait and see how it settles, and we will then be able to provide a further update next week. But he definitely will not play on Sunday against Hawthorn.
Jayden Short: Corked Quad, Test
Jayden Short did not quite get up last week, given how restricted he still was from a corked quad.
He took part in our light session today, and if he continues to get through the rest of the week of training, he will be available to play.
Oliver Hayes-Brown: Knee, Available
Oliver Hayes-Brown was quite close to playing last week after his minor knee issue and completed our main training session. In the end, the Club decided to give his knee an extra week of rest from the combative nature of rucking.
He will train this week and be available for selection.
Talking Tigers: Episode 442
Talking Tigers discuss this weekend's Round 19 clash with Hawthorn.
Sam Lalor: Achilles, Test
Sam Lalor trained fully with the main group last Friday and will do so again tomorrow (Wednesday) and Friday.
If he gets through training, we anticipate that he will be available this weekend.
Luke Trainor and Kaleb Smith: Concussion, Test
Luke Trainor and Kaleb Smith are going well. They are working through the concussion protocols and will train fully this week.
Provided they are able to train symptom-free and tick a few more boxes, they will be available for selection this weekend.
Jack Ross: Concussion, TBC
Jack Ross, similarly, is working through the protocols really well after suffering his concussion against Carlton in Round 17.
It was his second concussion within six weeks, so we are taking a cautious approach, and he is going to have a second week off.
The doctor will continue to monitor him, and we will give an update on his availability for Round 20 next week. But we are really pleased to update that he is feeling good and progressing well at this point in time.
Richmond legend presents debut jumper!
Watch as past player Greg Tivendale presents Zane Peucker with his first ever Richmond jumper.
Josh Smillie: Quad, Round 20-22
We are continuing to monitor Josh Smillie and how he responds to increases in his training load.
It has been good to see him back on the track, training with his teammates.
Campbell Gray: Hamstring, Round 22
Campbell Gray is progressing well with his hamstring injury, and we expect to see him back available for selection in three weeks.
Jacob Hopper: Ankle, TBC
Jacob Hopper is back running around out on the grass, which is a positive step. We will see how he pulls up from this week’s training, and hopefully, we will be able to provide a timeline for his return next week.
