Richmond's VFL team will welcome back seven AFL players and vice-captain Joel Garner in a mega boost ahead of Sunday's Round 17 clash with Box Hill.

Jasper Alger and Zane Peucker return to the VFL after AFL stints, alongside Maurice Rioli.

Luke Trainor and Kaleb Smith make their comebacks after completing concussion protocols, and are joined by Oliver Hayes-Brown and Noah Roberts-Thomson in the inclusions.

The eight inclusions replace Tom Sims (toe), Tom Burton (managed), Josh Pollocks (omitted), Tom McKenzie (omitted), James Milner (omitted), Sam Phillips (omitted), Kane Loftus (omitted) and Mohammed Yassine (omitted).

Sims is out due to a toe injury, with the Club to provide more details in next week's injury report.

The backline is made up of Mutaz El Nour, captain Lachlan Street, Trainor, Harry Scott, Nick Collier and Smith.

Judson Clarke makes up the centreline, alongside Tyler Sonsie and Sam Toner. Hayes-Brown takes his spot in the ruck, with Olli Hotton and Garner named as his followers.

Alger, Rioli, Peucker, Liam Fawcett, Harry Armstrong and Samson Ryan make up the forward line.

Sam Philp, Zach O'Keefe, Roberts-Thomson, Liam George and Leo Connolly will start on the interchange.

The emergencies are Aaron Sharkie, Pollocks, Phillips and Milner.

The Round 17 clash is set for 2:30pm (AEST) this Sunday, with the game to be live-streamed on the AFL website.
