Richmond will unveil exciting runner Baia Pugh in Saturday night's season opener against Collingwood.
Selected with pick No.54 in the 2025 AFLW National Draft, Pugh has made an instant impact at Tigerland.
A 169cm elite runner from Wonthaggi, Pugh starred for the Gippsland Power last season, and has impressed during the pre-season with her run-and-carry and confidence in transition.
Described as “deceivingly quick” by Richmond star Monique Conti, Pugh, who is just 19 years old, has already stood tall across multiple match simulation and practice matches.
"Baia, she's great. She's very fit, like a really, really great runner. She's also quite deceivingly quick, too, but she's going to be someone that is probably going to have the ball in her hands quite a bit running as well, so she'll be someone to look out for with that running game," Conti said in the pre-season.
Bringing a signature speed and flare, ‘Buzz’ as she is affectionately known by teammates and coaches, averaged 14 disposals and six tackles with the Power last season.
Pugh has spent time on the wing during the pre-season, as well as swinging forward and through the midfield.
Pugh will make her debut alongside fellow 2025 draftee Olivia Wolmarans. You can watch the pair take on the Pies this Saturday from 5.05pm (AEST) at IKON Park. Tickets are available here.
